Considered Mexico’s answer to an aged parmesan, Cotija cheese takes its name from the town of Cotija in Michoacán state.
It has a slight salty and zesty flavor with a vibrant taste that further develops over time and exhibits a firm crumbly texture.
Uses & Applications
• Easily grated or crumbled, to enhance tacos, pico de gallo, guacamole, Mexican street corn (Elotes), sauces, pasta, pizza, salads, soups and French fries.
• Sprinkle on crostini for mouthwatering flavor.
• Serve our delicious Cotija in a cheeseboard next to almonds, dried apricots, dried cranberries, dates, figs, mango or pistachios.
• Pairs as a wonderful complement to a full-bodied red wine.
